How To Naturally De-stress At Home

We often find ourselves caught up in the fast life and forgetting to find time to unwind. There are many ways to help you reach that point of relaxation, but nothing is better than natural ways to easily de-stress at home. Here are a few simple ways to achieve a better day;

Listen to music

Music is one of my most favourite stress management tools, our brains respond to the sound of music playing. Something soothing can have a tremendous effect on our mind and bodies. It naturally slows down your heart rate, lowers blood pressure, and can release serotonin decreasing anxiety linked to stress.

Drink Herbal Tea

Herbal teas have been healing us for ages and there are many different kinds that can help deal with stress to help. Taking the time to brew and have a moment to yourself to enjoy the benefits will help boost your mood. Some well known herbal teas to de-stress are; Chamomile, Peppermint, Jasmine, Lemon, Ginseng, and Lavender.

Eat Whole Some Foods

When your parent’s used to tell you “you are what you eat” they weren’t kidding. When you eat like crap you feel like crap, so opt out for something nutritious instead of the usual junk food. Trust me your body will thank you!

Massage Therapy

Is there anything more relaxing than getting a nice massage? Massage therapy is known to help relax muscles, release stress, and improve circulation. This benefits our bodies in an extraordinary way, it’s proven to help benefit and improve long-term health so book a massage and find a therapist who can best help your needs.

Exercise/Stretch

If you’re not able to get a massage, self-therapy is a great way to treat yourself at home. Exercising and stretches help strengthen and relax the muscles in your body. This leads to instant mood boosts and release of hormones that make you feel amazing. No one is saying to get to the gym but sometimes just 15 minutes can do one justice.

Read A Book

Books aren’t just for learning, they are also here to help us find some time to ourselves. There are so many different kinds of books you can read. Depending on how you’re feeling you can decide whats best from fantasy to self-care, there is a book out there for everyone.

Aromatherapy

This one was a game changer for me, I use aromatherapy ritualistically in my home and own a diffuser where I can add essential oils to it. Diffusing essential oils is proven to help alleviate stress symptoms, boost mood, increase your energy, or even improve sleeping habits.
